Looking for ways to help support others this fall? In addition to collecting donations through our nonprofit, the Red Oak Opportunity Foundation (ROOF), Red Oak and agents have found ways to give back to our East Bay communities. Here are a few initiatives happening during the month of November. We hope you’ll consider supporting them!
One Warm Coat Drive
Every year Red Oak’s Fletcher Real Estate Team collects coats for local communities via One Warm Coat Drive. Any new or lightly used coats, jackets, sweaters are welcome. The team has partnered with the Dorothy Day House and set their goal at 100 warm items this year, which are being collected via one of Red Oak’s three main offices (El Cerrito, Montclair and Berkeley) Mon - Fri from 10am - 4:30pm. If you have any extra items sitting in a closet that could go to helping someone less fortunate, please consider dropping them off at one of the offices. The final day for donating is NOVEMBER 6th. Items will be distributed throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
Building Futures - San Leandro
San Leandro agents Cory Boller, Julie Cuellas, and Greg Novak are supporting Building Futures of San Leandro this season by helping to collect monetary donations for families in addition to new and unwrapped items for children and teens in need. The organization provides shelter and support to local families, including those who have been victims of domestic abuse. Items can be dropped off at Red Oak’s Montclair office, Mon - Fri 10am - 4:30pm, or at any of the donation-specific locations mentioned here by DECEMBER 11th.
Toys for Tots
It may seem early, but Red Oak’s Toys for Tots Drive is already in full swing! Please consider dropping off a new, originally packaged and unwrapped toy for any aged child to help those less fortunate during this holiday season. Not able to get out? There are a few ways to donate. Virtual gift selection can be made via toysfortotsbox.com. If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation, you may do so via this link, or you can send a check (no cash please) to: Toys for Tots Coordinator, 2144 Clement Ave, Alameda, CA 94501. To drop off a toy, please visit one of Red Oak’s main office locations (El Cerrito, Montclair, Berkeley), Mon - Fri 10am - 4:30pm by NOVEMBER 30th.
The Butterfly Effect
Red Oak agent Shannon Prokup is currently working with The Sidewalk School, an organization providing food, water and safety to help kids and families at the US/Mexico border. The Butterfly Effect is helping them collect gently used stuffed animals, art supplies, and coloring books. Donations are being collected during the month of NOVEMBER. Contact Shannon at 510-813-8400 to arrange for donation pick-up.
