Featuring a Conversation with the Director, Cheryl Fabio
On Wednesday, February 7th, the Red Oak DEI Action Committee hosted a special screening of the documentary, A Rising Tide. The film reveals, through the eyes of children and their families, the survival strategies they are forced to endure while struggling with homelessness in Alameda County. The film also shares the work and the challenges faced by local service providers, shedding light on the “helping industry” that has developed from the housing crisis here in the East Bay.
The event attracted over 75 East Bay real estate industry professionals. The film’s director, Cheryl Fabio, headed up a lively conversation following the film, sharing ideas on how the real estate industry can help make an impact towards positive change.

We invite you to explore this documentary, as well as this complex and incredibly important topic, and consider the ways we can all make a difference in our East Bay communities. This might include donating to the Sarah Webster Fabio Center for Social Justice; it’s Executive Director is Ms. Fabio, the director of the film.
