Get to Know Me

Real estate is truly my passion! A background in international marketing and communication (fluent in German, French and Italian), excellent people skills, impeccable organization, the highest ethical standards, and a true love for people and houses in this wonderful area help to make me a strong, dedicated agent.

I work with buyers and sellers in Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Oakland, Emeryville and Piedmont. I particularly welcome first-time home buyers and people who are relocating from some far-away place to this wonderful area. Rather than a salesperson, I see myself as your consultant, helping you achieve your personal real estate goals.

Green Homes

Wouldn't it be great if we all knew how to conserve energy in our homes and build  with sustainable materials? For me, that's the wave of the future, but there is still much to be done as homeowners become aware of their ecological choices. I am thrilled to represent a seller of an eco-friendly home, and if you are a buyer in search of an energy-efficient or eco-sensitive home, let me know and I will identify properties with these criteria for you.

My Background

Born and raised in Germany, I worked for 10 years as a journalist for an international business magazine, traveling between Duesseldorf, Paris, and Milan to write about marketing and business strategies in the fashion industry. I first came to the Bay Area in the 1980s and fell in love right away with the powerful mix of people and cultures, great food and wonderful nature and climate. I returned frequently to visit family and long-established friends, thereby nurturing my love for this special place.

By 2004, my husband and I decided to move with our two children to Berkeley. For us it was the perfect place to raise a family and become a strong part of a wonderful community. I very much believe in strong communities, and I engage in our Northbrae neighborhood. I supported my children’s public schools throughout their public education, and was a regular volunteer at the Berkeley High School weekly, one of many rewarding ways I’ve been able to give something back to the community I thrive in so much myself.

I became a Realtor in 2005. The transition to real estate as a second career combines my professional marketing background with what I love: working with people and helping them to fulfill a dream, problem-solving when a transaction brings unexpected obstacles, and negotiating for my clients. My background in international marketing, communication and visual merchandising has turned out to be extremely helpful when preparing a house for sale and marketing it.

Ethics and fairness are highly important values to me and therefore are the pillars of my business. I believe that being transparent, straightforward, and fair in all my business transactions, as well as outside of business, is the way to live life.

After Work

As empty nesters, my husband and I like to spend time hiking in Tilden Park and Marin, taking our dog Felix on beach walks at Stinson or Point Reyes, and going to museums in San Francisco. All of my family lives in Germany, so I try to visit them in the summer. I have been doing Tai Chi for a few years now and really like it. Stand-up paddle boarding is on my list of new things to learn.

I continuously extend my business exclusively by referral from happy clients, one client at a time. I look forward to working with you!

Kindly,
Cordula
