Merritt and Schuyler Oliver have been integral members of the Red Oak Realty family since 1998, specializing in residential real estate sales, including single-family homes and apartment buildings in the Oakland and Berkeley areas. Their mission is to serve as trusted advisors, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial relationships by helping clients maximize the value of owning and investing in real estate.
Passionate about their craft, Merritt and Schuyler practice what they preach. They have purchased, renovated, and managed apartment buildings, converted units into condominiums, and either sold them or retained them as thriving rental properties. They currently own and manage a number of properties in the Berkeley-Oakland area.
Albany became home for Merritt and Schuyler in 2001, where they raised their two daughters, Kira and Melia.
Through the Red Oak Opportunity Foundation (R.O.O.F.), Merritt and Schuyler support local charities focused on housing and education in Oakland and Berkeley. Since 1985, R.O.O.F. has distributed over $1.5 million in grants. The Oliver Team co-founded and continues to coordinate the Annual R.O.O.F. Golf Charity Event, which began in 2009, to further these efforts.
Schuyler earned their California Real Estate License in 1992 and has since completed advanced training in negotiation, commercial property analysis, real estate appraisal, contract law, property management, seller representation, buyer representation, and sales and marketing.
Merritt holds a BA in English Literature from San Francisco State University (1995). During her first decade at Red Oak Realty, she worked closely with the founding owner, Patrick Leaper, contributing to over 300 successful real estate transactions.
