Sue was honest, kind, reliable, trustworthy and had a strong talent for finding the home that would perfectly match us. She was also upfront about telling us why some houses would not be a good value. She always responds quickly and clearly. Other agents I have met felt like they were trying to manipulate us. With Sue, I was at ease and knew she was on our side; this made me feel relieved too. We are so happy with how the transaction went. She is super smart with a wonderful sense of humor which took away the stress of buying a home. Sue also helped us a lot after closing, going above and beyond what we had expected - we are lucky that she was our buyer agent!

Sue is an excellent real estate agent!  I was a first time homebuyer, looking to buy in mid-April 2015, just when the market had really started to go insane.  I'm not sure I could have navigated the process without Sue.  She knew exactly what I was looking for and was tirelessly available throughout the hellish three month process.  We communicated almost daily and saw each other weekly as I bid on and lost house after house.  She never pushed me to go higher than I was comfortable just to get the deal.  After losing my fourth bid, I was ready to give up, and Sue completely understood.  Luckily I went to one more day of open houses and found one last house to bid on.  Once I won the bid, Sue was involved in inspections, paperwork, etc with suggestions for professionals in every industry.  She communicated with the selling agent about the smallest of details to make sure I had everything I needed. Even after I closed, Sue has been incredibly responsive to emails and texts with last minute questions.  Not only is Sue professional, but she's a delight to be around.  It turns out you spend a lot of time one-on-one with your realtor - one afternoon we were looking at houses for 3+ hours.  It's important, therefore, to have someone that you enjoy.  Throughout the often stressful experience, Sue brought levity and humor to every interaction.I highly recommend Sue to buyers or sellers.  She'll get the job done.

The day that we were referred to Sue Arendt was our lucky day. What a pleasure it has been to work with Sue! Our duplex was in Berkeley and we are in Kansas. Because the house had been a rental, there was much to do to make it ready for market. Also, because it had been our family home at one time there was much sentimentality and nostalgia attached to the house. Sue stepped right in and treated the house and us with great sensitivity. She empathized with our feelings for how our old home had been treated and knew just who to call in to do the repairs and bring the place back to its former self while staying within our budget. We had a budget in mind to do some remodeling/fixing to get our house ready to sell.She advised us on how best to allocate our funds (spend money to remodel our kitchen, updates to bathrooms, painting, minor landscaping and making sure we hired top notch stagers) to maximize our returns.We were out of state and she did everything for us: getting bids, project planning, ordering materials and keeping tabs on contractors to make sure that they did their work up to par. She even cleaned and did other chores around the house such as watering our plants. When I said she did everything, she really did everything and she ended up earning our strong sense of trust.Our house ended up selling for far more than we would have expected. Sue is the BEST! We were searching for a house in the East Bay for more than a year. We didn't really know what we were looking for, and Sue was very patient with us. She took us to see a lot of houses, and she even entertained our toddlers while we looked around (seriously, they love her)! She was very knowledgeable about east bay neighborhoods and market conditions. When we were in contract, she did an excellent job of making sure the seller addressed our concerns, and we never felt pressured to close. We are very happy with the house we found and the deal we got, but we'll miss seeing Sue.

Sue is like a pitbull. This is the second house she has helped me by and she has fought for rebates and repairs that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten if I've gone with another agent. She has given us great advice at every turn, and has been very generous with her time.

If you were to thoughtfully sit down and construct a Bay Area real estate agent for first time home buyers, you would make Sue Arendt.She understands that for every income/wealth level, especially if you have kids, entering into the Bay Area housing market is a total nightmare. After spending a couple of hours with us, she knew exactly what we wanted. Her knowledge of neighborhoods in the East Bay is at the block-by-block level. We're picky -- we looked at 45 houses over the course of 6 months -- and she was patient, never pushing us to max ourselves out on something we didn't like, so she could bank her commission and move on to the next client. No doubt about it, house hunting in this region really sucks and Sue seemed to know what exactly to say in every situation. In some pretty dark moments (losing bids or a drought in new listings) Sue reminded us to keep our chins up and to focus on the future excitement of moving into a new home and settling into a new neighborhood.
