I’m an Oakland native, born and raised on Pill Hill, where my mother worked as a registered nurse at Samuel Merritt Hospital, and my dad was a surgeon in emergency medicine. My mother always told me, a job worth doing is a job worth doing well. That is a motto I live by every day.
