Everyone Deserves a Nerdy Realtor!

An unexpectedly exploding Red Oak branded pen covered mild-mannered nerd SETH FRANKLIN with pure RED OAKIUM, transforming him into the East Bay's Nerdiest REALTOR™! Fortunately, he was already a CA BRE licensed broker with years of East Bay experience, multiple Telly Award-winning marketing, and spectacular client reviews. So it wasn’t that big a deal, other than the need for dry cleaning.

Armed with intensive diligence and unwavering integrity, Seth serves clients throughout Berkeley, Oakland, Albany, and beyond! From Cozy Craftsmen and Berkeley Beauties to Delightful Duplexes and Montclair Masterpieces, he prowls every winding hill and hidden street, vigilantly monitoring market conditions on behalf of his clients.

Wherever there's a house on tour or a foundation being inspected, you'll hear the call: 'Everyone Deserves a Nerdy Realtor!' And Seth will be there (or at least text back immediately).

Now, if you will, please permit me to take a step back from this dramatic introduction and take you behind the curtain, I think it will help to explain why I advertise the way I do. As all good marketing is, it is both deliberate and strategic.

Why Do I Embrace the Nerdy Realtor Branding?

Primarily, it's because authenticity works. When flippers shove Mid-Century Modern style into a MacGregor home, they inevitably produce something forced, false, and inauthentic. Just like in the houses I sell, success comes from valuing the truths that are actually in front of us. Real estate is about facing reality, and you deserve someone you can trust. So, I seek to be the best nerd I can be, and to let that authenticity infuse my work.

Being a nerd is about bringing passion, depth, and intellectual rigor to what I do, and embracing it is about not bowing under pressure. Those strengths help me cut through advertising fog for buyers and let the inner strength of my sellers' homes shine through. My love for things like D&D, Star Wars, superheroes, and sci-fi stems from my belief in what heroes represent: total commitment, uncompromising integrity, and standing between my clients and any challenges they face.

Core nerd strengths are not just creativity and intelligence, but also honesty, attention to detail, and forthrightness! So, here are some disclosures about me: I grew up in West LA. I came to the Bay Area 18 years ago and bought my own house in Albany in 2013. I love my town and am so invested in living here that I built my ADU with wheelchairs in mind; because I plan to live here the rest of my days. I have a philosophy degree, so I'm occasionally pretentious, studied improv at the Groundlings, so I often crack edgy jokes, and I was a high school English teacher, so I might assign some homework. But don't worry—I won't judge your grammar, and I will help you write a killer offer letter.

To sum up, I advertise myself the way I do because it's honest, it highlights my strengths, and above all, because it works. And at the end of the day, that is what we both care about: bringing your real estate goals into reality.

So, when you are ready, just call out “I Deserve a Nerdy Realtor!” and I will be there!

(To be clear, you do need to actually call, email, or text me if you want my help. Just shouting only works if I am already in the room with you. In which case, you could just wave or talk to me. I’ll be the chatty one with a big smile and rainbow suspenders!)
