Get to Know Me

My approach to real estate is the same as my approach to my running career: tireless work, attention to detail and boundless optimism. My goal is to give the highest level of service while supporting only a select number of clients at a time. I’m not concerned with volume or breaking records when it comes to the number of deals I’ve closed in a year.

If you are looking to buy, I’m here to help you find the house of your dreams… that you can afford. If you are selling your home, I’m here to make the experience as smooth as possible while obtaining the highest possible price for your home.

I grew up in Marin and was a competitive distance runner in my younger years. At an early age I developed a deep appreciation for endurance sports, physical fitness, and the natural beauty that surrounds us. I came to UC Berkeley in 1991 and earned my degree in Forestry, while also competing on the Track and Cross Country team.

After graduating, I ran professionally through 2000. I’m proud to say that I ran a mile well under 4 minutes, and I carry with me today the lessons that I learned about hard work and determination.

Once my running career ended, I became a managing partner of Transports, a running specialty store in Rockridge where I’d been working part time since college. For 17 years, my partners and I steered the business through tumultuous times and expanded to a second location on Solano Avenue in Berkeley. We grew our customer base by fostering our running community, being a valuable resource to our clients, and by realizing that it’s the service, not the product, that keeps customers coming back.

My wife and I bought our first house in 2002, in the King Estates neighborhood near the Oakland Zoo. After our eighth submitted offer, my wife and our wonderful agent were sufficiently exhausted. But I actually enjoyed the entire process of searching, negotiating and navigating our way through the transaction. When we moved to Rockridge and went through the process again in 2013, I was hooked and I knew what my next career would be.

In 2018, I sold my share of the business at Transports and took a break from working full-time to be a stay at home dad. I kept busy coaching Track and Cross Country at Oakland Tech, and all the while have maintained a watchful eye on the local real estate market. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your real estate goals.
