Marissa is wonderful to work with. House buying is inherently stressful. You need to work with someone who understands the local market, understands your needs and give honest feedback about what is going to work for you or not. Marissa is communicative, driven and perhaps most importantly, a pleasure to spend time with. If you need to spend hours with an agent visiting listings, you want to actually enjoy spending time with them. When it came time to purchase and actually close the deal, Marissa took the time to always make sure we fully understood what was happening, to make sure we were comfortable and felt heard in what can be an overwhelming, fast-paced process. Prior to that she also took her time to explain what to expect in the house buying process, and she also helped arrange walk through inspections that was invaluable to us in the bidding process. After we closed she continued to work tirelessly to help us arrange contractor work, and take care of little details to make our lives easier. She's got great contacts for insurance, mortgage, contractors, movers, etc. I'm glad we placed our trust in Marissa!

Selling and buying in four months in this market was a rollercoaster. But we are writing this from our lovely new home and are thankful to have worked with Marissa and Greg to guide us through the process. We met Marissa at an open house in our building. A friend told us good things about Red Oak and their knowledge of East Bay real estate. Marissa was friendly, energetic, and above all a hustler (in the good sense!), which proved invaluable. She introduced us to her Red Oak colleague, Greg Novak, and we prepped our condo for sale. We had a formidable real estate team: Marissa, with her tenacity and proactive attention to her clients, and Greg, with his deep knowledge of the San Leandro market and expertise in savvy real estate deals that win. They had a network of excellent people (painters, stagers, inspectors) who got the place in tip-top shape, as we listed in early May. But oh, the timing! The housing market was starting to turn, and it was initially a harrowing experience. Yet Marissa was relentless—and found us a buyer at the right price. (Whew!) She continued to help us search for a single-family home, and when we found “the one,” the team moved quickly, and our pre-emptive offer was accepted. Marissa is assertive, creative, and fearless—which is what you want, especially when things get hairy. More than helping us find the right home, she also counseled against others who weren’t the right ones for our family, given what she knew would make us happy. That is just as important, given how emotional the whole process can be.

Marissa consistently had lots of energy and kept her sense of humor - - both traits were valuable in our search, offer, and closing process. Buying a home in the current market can be stressful, but Marissa helped our perspective and got us smiling again every time.

Marissa did an incredible job for us, and we're sitting in a beautiful new home as a result! Marissa was persistent, knowledgeable, connected, and patient. And, on top of all that, she's a blast to spend time with. Marissa met my wife at an open house that Marissa was putting on at a time when we were only casually looking for a new home. And, most importantly, Marissa was able help us understand what all the information about each house meant when considering the house as both a home and an investment. Marissa was patient with us as our preferences shifted and flowed. She gave us a straightforward assessment of each house but never applied any pressure. When we finally find a house after a couple months of working with Marissa and seeing her almost every weekend, our toddler was very disappointed to learn that Marissa didn't come with the house! We can't recommend Marissa enough.

We are first-time home-buyers, and one of the first things that impressed us about Marissa was the detailed mini-lecture she gave us the very first time we spoke. She clarified so many tiny aspects of the process in such a short amount of time - she answered questions we would have never even known to ask. Then, she dropped everything and met us an hour later to view the house we eventually bought. THIS is the type of agent you want: helpful, thorough, knowledgeable, fast. Marissa helped manage the process every step of the way. I am 1000% certain we would not have gotten our dream home without her. She was hands-on with every single detail: helping us organize inspections, communicating with the lender (who gave us the absolute best rate of any lender we spoke with!), the listing agent, the title company, and everyone else a buyer comes into contact with throughout the process. We had an absolutely bizarre hiccup at the end (discovered a defect in the title 1 week prior to closing) and not only did she help us understand what was going on, she called a "def-con 5" level alert and brought in her entire office to help us get across the finish line (we closed on time!). We're beyond happy with our experience with Marissa and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking to buy a house in this wacky market!

My wife and I recently bought a home in Richmond, California to be closer to family. Marissa knows many of the real estate agents in the area so she is privy to quite a bit of “inside information” which is very useful in house hunting. She also has many contacts that can help clients both before and after the sale (e.g. contractors, appliances, etc.). We moved into our new house about four weeks ago. We have had problems with appliances, irrigation system, etc. Marissa contacted us 2 or 3 times a week to check up on us and to help us negotiate the difficult problems of parts, repairs, home warranties, etc. In other words, she is willing to continue to help out after the sale. If you want somebody who knows what they are doing and who is tough enough to help you fight through the difficulties of the Bay Area housing market, Marissa Harrison is just the person you need. Marissa was incredibly responsive, proactive, connected, and helpful throughout our entire first-time home buying process! She met us at an open house and spent time talking with us about the added value of having a realtor until she convinced us it was worth it to work with her! One of the things she mentioned early on was that if we were interested in a home, she'd "get us in the room" so that at a minimum we'd have a fighting chance our offer would be considered and I felt that to be true--after watching friends working without a realtor be outbid again and again in this incredibly competitive market, we put in offers on just two homes with her and if we'd listened to her advice on the first one we probably would have gotten that one, and with the second offer we were successful.
