About Katie Dain Lederer

After growing up as the eldest of six on a small family farm in San Benito County, Katie came to the Bay Area by way of Davis, where – in this order – she bought her first property, managed more than 300+ apartment units, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics. Following graduation, Katie worked as a merger and acquisition integration manager for a venture capital firm in the technology sector before becoming a real estate agent in 2002, when she joined Red Oak. In 2003, Katie co-founded The Lederer Team, a top Bay Area real estate listing and purchasing team that consistently ranked in the top 1% nationally for over 20 years. Her industry expertise, market knowledge, and proven success at creating, leading, and supporting teams led her to join the Red Oak leadership team in 2025.

As President, Katie focuses on cultivating the culture and systems that empower Red Oak agents to deliver results that truly make a difference - for their clients and diverse East Bay communities Red Oak serves. Drawing on her experience as a nonprofit trustee and board chair, along with her training through The Aji Network/LEIP and Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Coaching programs, Katie recruits agents whose values align with Red Oak’s client-first philosophy and equips them with the tools that help them gain a competitive advantage in the evolving East Bay market. Katie believes that agents who feel seen and supported are best equipped to help clients feel the same. She brings care, compassion, and clarity to everything she does at Red Oak.

When she's not working, Katie enjoys venturing out into nature, spending time in the parks and on the trails and seashores that make the Bay Area a unique place to live.
