About Brook Baird

In addition to what has been said before me, which I fully agree, Brook has also taken on an issue with a title company two years after our close/purchase like we were still fresh and in escrow. No hesitation helping us out after all this time has passed. That my people is huge when help might be needed down the line! When the day comes to sell I know who I'll be calling.

Im so happy we found Brook to help us buy our home! Brook was recommended to us as someone who had successfully helped other people buy a first home. She skillfully navigated so many hurdles - the high prices of desirable neighborhoods in the East Bay; our complex lists of needs, wants, and dreams; and the UC Berkeley MOP loan program, with all its own bureaucracy. Through it all she was a knowledgable expert, an intuitive guide, and a caring friend. We ended up buying a home that was in a better location that we imagined possible and had everything we were chasing. Shes listened and patiently answered all of our questions and provided numerous recommendations and ideas when weve needed them. Thank you Brook - you really made our dreams come true!

Brook was immensely helpful. She knows her way around the Oakland real estate scene. I took her advice every step of the way and she was always right. I received nine jaw-dropping offers on my home within two days of her last open house and sold for way over the asking price. She was also attentive and kept in communication when I would worry about details.

Brook is very knowledgeable and when it is time to represent you she is tough as a bulldog. But she is very nice and when things get tough she is super chill.

Brook is a phenomenal agent. Period. We had an incredibly easy house search and it was largely due to Brook's guidance. We looked at houses for 10 days, made one offer on our dream home, and got it! We were successful because Brook expertly guided us through the process of making a competitive offer that protected us and respected our financial constraints. She wisely instructed us to put a 24 hour deadline on the offer to get ahead of a second weekend of open houses. Importantly, Brook was also able to clearly explain what the MOP loan to the seller's agent so she felt confident taking the offer before their set offer date. She really knows the ins and outs of the MOP loan! I have referred many UC colleagues to her. We could not have had a better experience or outcome in our home search.

I cannot sing the praises of Brook highly enough. She navigated us through our Oakland home purchase 2 years ago and was on point through the entire process. We were lucky to have her! This was not our first home purchase, but each home buying or selling experience has its own set of challenges to be sure. Brook met every question, every concern, every freak-out with poise and knowledge, her calming demeanor always let you know she had control of things. Brook knows her business and was an absolute joy to work with; I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her (I've already done so)!

Smart, responsive, compassionate, wonderful.

Brook was a dream to work with! She made a complex process smooth and easy to understand. I felt supported every step of the way. I would recommend Brook to everyone I know who is interested in homeownership!

Professional, friendly, went above and beyond to help us through this process.

Amazing--We just bought our second rental property with Brook--I would consider no other Realtor! Brook truly knows the market, is incredibly helpful and patient AND she has excellent advice! Additionally, she knows the best people to contact for home inspections, engineers, contractors, and the like. Her ability to bid with intelligence and savvy has saved us significant money on both of our purchases--and she is a great negotiator! Most importantly she is a wonderful human who truly cares about her clients--look no further for a fantastic Realto!!

If you get a chance to work with Brook DO IT! Why? She's an East Bay Area native, completely knowledgeable about the market, has expert advice on, for example, how much it would cost to fix up any needed repairs on your fix-it-upper, has AWESOME connections vis-a-vis inspectors, plumbers, etc (saved us thousands of $$), is willing to go the extra mile by patiently helping you see a lot of property and devise a winning bid strategy, is a TRULY nice human--and has a great sense of humor!! I can't recommend her more and when we buy our next property I will work with her again!

Buying a home is brutal! It is emotional, expensive, stressful, and exciting. Brook rode every single emotional wave with us, making us feel validated and heard, as well as reassured that we will find the perfect fit. We knew we could trust her and depend on her, that she had our best interests at heart, and that she'd do whatever she could to help us realize our vision. Those are unique qualities in an agent, and we felt exceedingly lucky to have Brook as our agent. There is nothing that she could've done to make the experience any better. We appreciated her communication, empathy, strong headedness, humor, and general we'll-get-this demeanor.

Brook is absolutely fantastic. We couldn't be happier with her as our agent. Brook helped us, nervous first-time home buyers, navigate the complex process with much kindness, empathy, responsibility, and knowledge. She was always responsive to our lengthy questions and gave us helpful suggestions when we needed. She skillfully resolved many issues we had with the seller on our behalf. We are so happy about the house we were able purchase and deeply grateful for Brook's help. Thank you, Brook!

Absolutely amazing experience with Brook Baird as my buyer real estate agent! Without a doubt, she goes above and beyond for her clients. I am a young first homebuyer and I needed a lot of questions answered. She was with me every step of the way, and always responded to my messages quickly. She made this buying experience so pleasant and shielded me from the headwinds that came from the seller. I couldn't have asked for any better! Brook is the 5-star rockstar all homebuyers deserve!

Brook Baird was 1) knowledgeable 2) professional 3) available. I was referred to Brook by a non profit org that manages Below Market Rate Homes, which is one of her specialties. After our first conversation I felt a sigh of relief and that finally I had someone on my side who knew what they were doing. She is a wonderful advocate and has a team behind her for any back up necessary. Brook and Red Oak are a class act. Highly recommended. With Brook, you are in good hands with such an important asset - your property! Brook is a gem in the greater Bay Area, especially for BMR homes, for either buyers or sellers. 10/10

Brook helped us find our first home, and she was absolutely amazing! Our first baby arrived a few days after our offer was accepted; so needless to say it was a VERY hectic time to buy a house! I agree with the other reviews about Brook's knowledge of the East Bay and her attention to detail. While we had lived in the East Bay for several years we had little idea of which neighborhoods we'd like to live in (and could afford). Brook helped us to productively search for homes by helping us to find a couple of neighborhoods that met all our criteria. Due to Brook's keen understanding of the market, our home search took less than two months! Brook was masterful at handling all the paperwork and complexities of buying a home. She has lots of connections in the construction/inspection world and scheduled all the appointments needed for us to close on our home. I have and will recommend her services to anyone needing a realtor. She is super smart and makes the process of buying a home as smooth and easy as it could possibly be!

Brook is the doula of the home purchase process. It's no secret that buying a home in the Yay Area is a tough and expensive venture. You NEED someone like Brook to help you through this emotionally intense roller coaster. Sure, she knows the area, the buying/selling process, and all the fine details involved. In fact, she is still advising me on smoke detector codes and refinancing a year and a half after purchasing my house (which is what prompted me to write this review) But, more than that, Brook has the sense of humor and refined aesthetic sensibility to see through all the market-speak. She's not going to let you purchase that horribly ugly home-depot explosion of a flipped house with some fake artist easel that the staging company put in the garage (as if you would be fooled into thinking this was not some disheveled garage but livable workspace). The other realtors are ROBOTS compared to Brook.

Brook is a pro! As first-time homebuyers, she guided us through the process clearly and honestly and gave us the tools to evaluate the properties we were interested in. In this competitive, crazy market she worked quickly, but never without integrity. It's easy to get overwhelmed and scared when looking for houses and putting in offers, but Brook gained our trust and always gave us a path forward. Her personality, creativity, and sense of humor made the experience more enjoyable than stressful. Ultimately we found a house we absolutely love. It was Brook's sound advice, diligence, and overall savvy that got us the keys. She was with us EVERY step of the way and we are so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with her.

Brook is a unicorn. She's smart, serious, professional, and organized while also being laid back, funny, and generally fun to work with. She was extremely responsive and I think her counsel is the reason that my offer succeeded and I spent the pandemic in my perfect home. Thanks Brook!

Brook was the dream agent! She was accessible to check in with us whenever we had questions or wanted to talk through our thoughts but she also gave us enough space to make a decision that worked best for us. It didnt take long for us to realize that Brook was someone we could trust to help walk us through our decision-making process about the house to consider whether this was the right house for us, how much the neighborhood mattered to us, how much space of the house vs having an outdoor area mattered. She always seemed to ask the right questions that led us to our own answer which we ultimately felt comfortable with. From our first house tour with Brook until the very last logistical steps of going into escrow, Brook was an ideal agent and we would recommend her to any of our closest friends and family!

We had an amazing experience with Brook as our Realtor. She guided us through the purchase of our first home with grace, patience, and a sense of humor. She was tough in negotiations when she needed to be and a breeze to work with on our end. Overall highly recommend.

Brook is a miracle worker, and I really could not have imagined a better Realtor to help me manifest and move into my very own and very first HOME! She was authentic, honest, endlessly patient, always punctual, detail-oriented, and answered all my questions! She was so available too: at the end, we talked every day and it was exactly what I needed to make such a huge decision and get all the paperwork done. She was also super caring and empathetic. Buying a house is hard and stressful and scary, especially as a single mom, and she was there for all my feelings and fears. I feel so, so lucky to have had Brook as my Realtor and I am recommending her to all my friends. She made the impossible dream of buying a house in the Bay Area on my own a REALITY! Love her!

Brook is the absolute best! Brook managed the seemingly impossible: Finding our very complicated and eccentric family an amazing house in the Bay Area. Two months post closing and we are honestly still in shock that we were able to buy a home. We love our house even more than we did when we first saw it. Having had some challenging experiences prior to meeting Brook, we were ready for the process of finding a house to be really hard and possibly unsuccessful. Brook could not have offered us a more different experience. We were not only a family with a limited budget, looking in specific neighborhoods, but I am also a wheelchair user--which means we were looking for a house to fit my very unique needs. I could not simply just go to dozens of open houses, as most homes are not accessible. Brook not only stuck with us, but figured out all sorts of ways of working around our families' access needs. The process was honestly a joy. Brook is down to earth while also being imaginative and dreaming big. She is the best kind of agent: a passionate advocate for her clients, extremely patient and not in a rush, very knowledgeable, a true lover of all sorts of homes, and just a super kind and fun person. In the inevitable moments of stress or disappointment, Brook was there with words of wisdom and encouragement, along with a wonderful sense of humour. She met us where we were at, and helped us buy a house that we truly feel connected to. We are looking forward to making it our family home for many years to come. We are so grateful and truly can't recommend Brook enough!

Brook helped us to buy a wonderful home that is more than we ever dreamed we could own in the Bay area. It is also, amazingly, the first house we looked at we knew it was special right away and Brook confirmed, saying: This one, this is it! She was right and she made it happen. Because our loan was through the UC-Berkeley MOP program, it was a difficult offer to get accepted and made for a complicated transaction. Our loan terms were contingent on selling our then-home (also a University property), which at the time was not even under contract yet and required our seller to accept an unusual 60-day escrow. Brook gracefully orchestrated the cooperation and creative problem-solving of multiple parties to get us across the finish line. Thank you, Brook!

Working with Brook Baird was an absolute game-changer for us, especially as first-time home buyers. Her knowledge of the Bay Area real estate market is truly exceptional, and it showed every step of the way. She not only helped us find an amazing house that we absolutely love, but she also made the entire process feel seamless and manageable. What really set Brook apart was her attention to detail and honesty. She sat down with us and walked us through the entire process. She took time to explore what our housing priorities were, and checked in with us throughout our housing search. She pointed out potential flaws in homes that other agents might have overlooked or hidden, which gave us total confidence that we were making the right decision. During escrow, she was incredibly supportive, responsive, and proactive—always making sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Brook is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but she genuinely cares about her clients. She is kind and truly listens. Her approach is collaborative, while empowering her clients to make informed decisions. It’s safe to say we never could have done this without her. From identifying exactly what we were looking for to navigating negotiations and closing the deal, Brook made everything feel effortless. Her skills and expertise were invaluable in securing our home! We enthusiastically recommend Brook! Seth and Abigail
