Caroline Arguelles, a San Francisco native, moved to the East Bay to attend UC Berkeley and receive a degree in Environmental Health Science with a minor in City Regional Planning. She discovered the spaciousness and diverse geographical landscapes of the East Bay, opening a whole new perspective in her life. She has been living here ever since.
Caroline's career has been focused on regulatory and building/real estate compliance. With over 20 years of experience, she has demonstrated project management skills on a myriad of projects, from procedural management practices to ensuring regulatory and legislative compliances. She is no stranger to the standard of quality, attention to detail, and consistency.
Growing up in the city, she was aware of some of the health problems associated with urban living and she learned how to affect prevention through zoning ordinance, building standards, city planning, and growth management. This focus brought her to UPS to maintain its local regulatory compliance, building, and facility assets.
She later moved to the Assessor-Recorder's Office of the City and County of San Francisco where she applied California revenue and taxation codes and property tax rules. She worked as a Real Property Tax Appraiser, the Manager of Transaction Unit Change in Ownership, and finally Manager of the Exemptions Unit.
She always made time to mentor high school interns through San Francisco’s YouthWorks. It was a way for Caroline to give back to the community and help young adults provide service to the public while developing their professional and interpersonal skills. She envisions continuing to help future generations build a brighter future.
