El Sobrante California
One of the East Bay’s
best-kept secrets for affordable living, spacious homes and
beautiful weather, the unpretentious and peaceful town of El
Sobrante is a suburb worth looking into. It’s an ideal location
for homebuyers looking for country living without being too far
away from the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Walnut Creek and San
Francisco.
Homes here boast spectacular views. From the fog gently rolling
off the sunny hills, to the pastoral green hills of Wildcat
Canyon to the lush green surrounds of San Pablo Dam below, El
Sobrante is incredibly scenic. Hiking, biking, fishing and
horseback riding are just a few of the activities local families
enjoy doing together.
The homes here are mainly 50s ranch style and newer tract home
developments with spacious living areas and plenty of room for
kiddie pools, playhouses, swingsets and trampolines in the
oversized backyards. There are also horse properties with
surrounding trails to explore.
While the town is officially unincorporated and doesn’t have
nearly as many stores and services as other East Bay
communities, Berkeley is right around the corner and many El
Sobrante residents enjoy upscale shopping and dining in nearby
Walnut Creek.
El Sobrante is located 14 miles from the Bay Bridge toll plaza
and BART commuters use the Orinda station to commute to San
Francisco.
